Kaylee Sims  

Kathryn Sims was hired by the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety in October 1999.  Kathryn completed her training in fire and worked patrol until she was appointed to the position of detective in 2003.  Since 2003, Kathryn has held the position of property crimes detective, persons crimes detective, and narcotics/vice detective.  Kathryn’s main area of expertise has been investigating physical and sexual abuse of children. 

Prior to Kathryn’s employment with Public Safety, she worked as a wild land firefighter on a helicopter crew and was a personal trainer in Southern California.  Kathryn enjoys the diverse opportunities that Public Safety has to offer.  Kathryn is married to a Public Safety Lieutenant and enjoys spending her time off with her husband and three step-daughters. 

 
     
Bradley Militano  

Officer Bradley Militano has been with the Department of Public Safety since 1996.  He is assigned to the Special Operations Division, within the Crime Prevention Unit, as a Neighborhood Resource Officer.

Officer Militano actively works in Santa Clara County as a Nationally Registered Paramedic and is a County EMS Manager.

Officer Militano focuses on Sunnyvale area schools, as well as neighborhood issues and events. He is a member of the Bike Patrol Unit, the Crisis Intervention Team, and the Tactical Team. In addition, Officer Militano is a department Background Investigator and an EMS (Emergency Medical Services) Instructor. 

Officer Militano is an avid runner and spends most of his limited free time running marathons; averaging one monthly.

 
   
       
Dori Fontaine  

Dori Fontaine was hired as a Community Services Officer by Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety in August 1998. CSO Fontaine is assigned to the Crime Prevention Unit in the Special Operations Division where she is responsible for the department's volunteer program, coordinating special events and working on community outreach projects such as producing the department's e-mail newsletter "Beyond the Badge". 

She also reviews building plans and provides crime prevention comments for new projects within the city.

Prior to her employment with Public Safety, she worked as the education coordinator at the Humane Society of Silicon Valley.
     
EJay  

Ejay is a four year old German Shepherd who was imported from the Czech Republic.  Ejay is trained in patrol operations, explosives detection, tracking, and article searching. 

He has worked for Sunnyvale Public Safety for two years and lives with his handler, Officer Devon Klein and his family.

Currently there are four K-9 officers working for Sunnyvale Public Safety Department.
